M&T Festival
SAINT BARTHOLOMEW | 03 - 08 July
The M&T Festival begins on Monday 3 July, the music and theater festival that characterizes San Bartolomeo al Mare with a dive into the shows throughout the first week of July. Organized by the La Ritmica association in collaboration with the Municipality of San Bartolomeo al Mare and the Centro Sociale Incontro association, the 29th edition of the M&T Festival will take place as usual in Piazza Torre Santa Maria again at 21:30. There will be the drumcircle (time dedicated to the world of percussion and drums, open to all) every morning, starting at 10:00 always in Piazza Torre Santa Maria, from Monday to Saturday in July.
Monday's appointment is with Grazia Di Michele, singer-songwriter, musician, music therapist and singing teacher with "Terra!", a tribute to Mother Earth, to nature, to South America. Piano, guitars and voices that accompany us to discover the rhythms and emotions of a humanity that lives in harmony with nature and in balance with passions. Grazia Di Michele was several times in the competition at the Sanremo Festival finishing third in the 1993 edition. She worked with artists of the caliber of Eugenio Finardi, Pierangelo Bertoli, Ornella Vanoni and Massimo Ranieri and was a teacher at the "Amici" talent of Maria De Filippi, from 2003 to 2015, and then in the children's talent show "Pequinos Gigantes".
The second evening is dedicated to World music - characterized by the contamination between elements of popular music and traditional music - in a modern key. The Magasin du Café performance on Tuesday will give the public a universal sound with exotic sounds mixed with rock, folk, jazz and unpublished dialogue between the five musicians who make up the group. It is a very particular band, which loves to play in uncontaminated places: their concerts are a real experience, to be lived by completely abandoning oneself, as they say, to the flow.
Wednesday the curtain opens on Eufonika: not just a jazz concert but a varied show between retro images, narrated descriptions of jazz history and an enthralling "Tap dance". Great melodies from the past will involve the audience in a continuous contamination with the most modern songs, mixing pop and jazz, charleston and linda hop on songs by Amy Winehouse, Sting, Abba and Lady Gaga.
Thursday evening dedicated to the theatrical show "A soft for six", which will be staged by the actors Fabrizio Rizzolo, Isabella Tabarini, Chiara Buratti, Ettore Scarpa, Diego Casale, Gianmarco Canalella and by the audience itself. In fact, this amusing comedy will open the doors to spectators, who will be able to intervene and modify what the actors will do on stage using their mobile phones.
On Friday, Dirotta su Cuba, a group founded by Simona Bencini, voice and soul of the funkiest band in Italy, will take the stage in Piazza Torre Santa Maria. After almost two years of hiatus, Dirotta su Cuba are back to offer their greatest hits, such as "Jealousy", "Free of, free from", "Where are you" and "It went like this".
The final evening of the festival, that of Saturday, will be dedicated to the memory of Gianni Branca, an internationally renowned artist who died in 2014. Designated best drummer-percussionist at the "Percfest memorial Naco" international competition held in Liguria in 1997, Gianni Banca had a of great artistic value with experiences such as "Festivalbar", "Un disco per l'estate" (1994) Rai 1 (1996-1998-1999), Rai Sat (1999), Rai 2 (2000-2001). During Saturday evening The Blue Laws & Fratelli Lambretta will perform "Song for a friend" with special guest Danilo Amerio, great Italian singer-songwriter known for his collaboration in the production and creation of many albums by artists such as Raf, Umberto Tozzi, Marco Masini, Lorenzo Jovanotti, Mia Martini, Aleandro Baldi and Paolo Vallesi.
"The M&T Festival brings harmony to San Bartolomeo al Mare with its unmistakable rhythm and the enthusiasm of those who work every year to offer an ever higher artistic value - declares the Mayor Valerio Urso -. This year the cultural association La Ritmica raises the bar even further by offering top-level shows that are the result of a synergistic collaboration with the Municipality, with which it shares the goal from the outset of proposing a rich calendar, appreciated as always by all, free of charge. its younger brother - Rovere Jazz - the M&T Festival offers unforgettable moments of music and theater in the squares of our town, inviting tourists and residents to take part in this wonderful festival dedicated to quality music, the emotions of the theater, the suggestions of jazz and sharing a project that I proudly see growing and confirming itself every year as one of the most awaited moments of the summer season. Our collaboration with the La Ritmica Association has ancient roots that date back to the period in which the late and always never too remembered Gianni Branca was chosen as Artistic Director of the M&T Festival. His energy overwhelmed us and we haven't stopped being carried away since."
